These are the original Glenn Cronkhite-designed mandolin bags. Some of the 1970s era bags are still in use today! Made in the USA using only the finest “Top Grain” leathers and durable 1680D ballistic nylon fabrics, you can be assured that your mandolin is well protected in an exceedingly well made bag.

Top Grain Leather:
We use Top Grain leather, the most desireable and durable leather on the market.
Competitors might use “corrected” or “sanded” grain because of the better yeild per hide, however, these grains wear and crack quickly. Our Top Grain bags are built to age naturally, allowing them to thrive through decades of gigs and thousands of road miles!
1680D Cordura Nylon:
Our Cordura bags are made with heavy 480 GSM-weight 1680D nylon. This fabric is unmached for abrasion resistance. It is water-resistant, easy to clean, and the tightest weave you can buy.
Superior Stitches:
Thread is the most important part of a bag! That is why we use only Tex-138 Polyester Thread in our bags. Tex-138 Polyester is resistant to acids from your hands and the environmnt, it is also resistant to UV damage that causes similar nylon threads to become brittle over time. Our thread is made in the USA by American & Efird.
Superior Zippers:
Our bags use #10 YKK RC Coil zippers. These specialty zippers are made to funciton smoothly for decades without unthreading or crimping. To ensure the longevity of these zippers, we include a protective flap on the lower bout of the case to avoid scuffing if you set the case down on its end.
Rivets and Hardware Made to Last:
Each bag comes with a main handle an some models include a sling strap. Our straps are 2″ wide and include rubberized strips on the underside that prevent the straps from sliding off your shoulder. The strap hardware is brass-plated steel, and all connection points are reinforced with rivets AND stitching to guarantee the straps do not break and do not deform the exterior of your case over time. Padded shoulder straps are an optional upgrade (available under “Accessories”).
Warranty:
Every case that leaves our shop is built to last for decades, and we stand by that quality.
If something goes wrong with your case in the first 10 years, we will fix it with no questions asked and pay to ship it back to you. If you’re outside of the 10 year window, we offer a reasonable repair service (see our “Services” tab on the homepage for more information).
